Dominique Hawthorne, GYROTONIC® Trainer

Dominique has always had a passion for fitness, nutrition, and learning what makes a healthy body. After the birth of her two children, a ski accident and years of playing tennis, she began a personal quest to find a natural way to heal from severe and debilitating back pain. After one session at Marin GYROTONIC® in the summer of 2014, she knew she had found something very different and profoundly effective that worked for her like no other form of therapy or exercise she had experienced. The spiraling movements and specialized equipment along with integrated breathwork allowed her spine to open up and function for the first time in a way that evened out the imbalances in her body and eliminated the cycle of chronic pain. After years of searching for more than a short-term fix, she realized what a gift Gyrotonic has been in truly understanding how to access the places that teach the body how to open and be supported to move in ways that feel free and unrestricted.
Dominique did her foundation training in San Francisco and was certified in Miami Beach by the end of 2016. Prior to studying Gyrotonic, Dominique practiced various forms of yoga including Iyengar, Hatha and Anusara. Her teaching career began just after the birth of her son as an instructor at The Dailey Method from 2005 - 2011 giving her a foundation for core stabilization and movement principles. For her, the true brilliance of GYROTONIC® is how it stimulates and strengthens the nervous system to create a more balanced physical, mental and emotional state of being. Dominique’s goal is to give back and help others experience the healing benefits of Gyrotonic such as balanced strength, improved posture, awareness of holding patterns, freedom of movement and a sense of empowerment in her client’s everyday lives. She enjoys helping people understand how to take care of themselves in a way that feels energizing, yet peaceful.
